Flonase success stories:

Success stories for Flonase
Flonase nasel spray is the only thing that has worked to clear my sinuses. I have obstructive sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine while sleeping, and flonase nasel spray keeps my sinuses open so the CPAP can work correctly. The only flonase side effect that I notice is a slight scratchiness in my throat immediately after using. This eventually goes away and is tolerable.

I’ve used Flonase for years. I try to use Flonase nasel spray as little as possible though because I have a serious problem with nosebleeds when I do. This spring I started getting nosebleeds after only two days of use Flonase. I was ready to cry. I was reduced to spraying one nostril once/day. Even that caused nosebleeds and sinus infections. So much for the product literature that claims this is a rare Flonase side effect. A friend suggested that using a saline spray after Flonase would help. I seriously recommend this to everyone using Flonase nasel spray who has problems with irritated sinuses or nosebleeds. It dramatically reduced my problem. For some reason I seem to be o.k. without it now that its mid-summer. I’m using sinus washes instead and that is working fine. Next spring I’ll try sinus washes only and will report back on whether that can substitute for Flonase nasel spray. One of my friends finds that sinus washes take care of her allergy problem. In contrast to several people who reported a reduction in their sense of smell, I find that my sense of smell increases significantly when I use Flonase nasel spray, probably because I’m less congested. cwalker

This is hands down “the one for me” after taking home sample after sample from several doctors. Most had severe side effects like dizzyness, or “weak feeling with a racing heart” or my wife and kid’s favorite – irritability and anger – that even I couldn’t control. Flonase is the ticket! I take 2 sprays in each nostril and sniffle and sniffle it in there… which takes effort when you are stopped up. After 2 or 3 days of 2 Flonase sprays the nose opens up and stays open to perfection!!! Now, with clear, open nostrils, I can cut back to about 1 spray per nostril Every OTHER day! and maintain an allergy free status as long as needed. (usually until the first freeze!) It’s about $50 a month if you spray twice every day in each nostril. So my cost is probably about $25 a month since I can go to every other day. Who knows I may be able to go to once every 3 days. I haven’t tried that yet!
